David Thompson

David Thompson opened the doors of Colony in 1985 with the desire to introduce an improved level of standard in the metal building industry. David's belief that "it's all about people - employees, clients and suppliers; the rest is about identifying opportunities and long-term planning so that these people can come together effectively" is the backbone of Colony as it stands today. David's focus on people has helped to develop lasting relationships with his clients and employees. Length of service and loyalty are two elements, which appear to be instilled in the Colony Team. David's approach to our clients is one that seems to be unique to the industry. Instead of trying to fit the client's needs into a predetermined building package, David works directly with the client to design a unique building solution, which exceeds their expectations. David's experience in the industry has proven to be the key to Colony's success.

Jim Peacey

Jim Peacey
Vice President
Project Management

Jim brings over 35 years of experience to Colony and our project management team as Vice President - Project Management. Jim has an extremely varied background, which has given him the ability to understand the needs and requirements of projects from the simple to the complex. Jim’s uncanny ability to work with the client to understand their vision for the project, allows him to design a working schedule that best reflects the client’s needs and ensure every aspect of the job has been thoroughly considered. In 1996 Jim brought the concept of ISO 9000 to Colony. It is a responsibility of Jim’s to ensure that Colony meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. The ISO focus is on ensuring that Colony provides the best service possible to everyone involved with Colony and throughout every facet of Colony.

Kristin Schneider

Kristin Schneider
Controller

Kristin joined the Colony team early on and has continued to grow with the company. She began as a receptionist and has worked her way through the company and now holds the position of Controller. Kristin handles most of the financial aspects of the company including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and preparing financial statements. Kristin has celebrated almost 20 years with Colony and plans to continue on with the Colony team for many more years to come.

Shawn Lochbaum

Business Development & Special Projects

Shawn has been with Colony since 1995 and brings numerous years of experience from the field and in project management. He plays a key role in the Colony organization as the Vice President of Business Development and Special Projects. If your building requires extraordinary details, Shawn is your man. Shawn has experience on many levels of business and has settled himself on sales and estimating. Shawn’s explicit attention to every factor ensures that each building is designed to the most efficient use possible, using the most up to date engineering and products available to our clients.

Martin Gostelow

Martin Gostelow
Project Manager

Martin brings over 30 years of project and construction management experience to Colony. Martin has a proven track record in successfully completing projects in the industrial, commercial and institutional sectors and fosters a great relation with the many parties that make up the project team. In addition to project and construction management, Martin has practical experience in scheduling and construction estimating while working for both General Contracting and Engineering firms.   

Scott Robinson

Project Manager

Scott has been with Colony since 2001 and began as a Project Coordinator. Scott’s education around construction operations and his education from the British Columbia Institute of Technology have clearly shown through in his project management style. Scott quickly began taking on larger scale projects and has developed into one of our key Project Managers. Scott’s project management style is to focus on communication with his clients and suppliers to ensure the project progresses smoothly and all needs are met. Scott continuously focuses on keeping the project within the set budget and schedule to ensure Colony provides the best results and value for the client.

John Grime

John Grime
Project Manager

John comes to Colony with over 30 years of experience gained in the construction industries of the United Kingdom and the Irish Republic. He has managed a wide variety of projects ranging from small civil engineering works through to multi-million dollar building construction. John has covered a broad spectrum of many construction types and various forms of contract. John is a firm believer in teamwork, seeing his primary role as bringing all parties harmoniously together to ensure smooth running and completion of each and every project.

Sara Gourlie

Sara Gourlie
Project Coordinator

Sara joined the Colony team in June of 2005. Sara’s duties began with various customer service related activities and developing a variety of marketing programs. Sara has now switched roles and has currently moved into a Project Coordinator position. Sara’s duties now focus on the project management aspect of the company and working closely with the Project Managers on various jobs. Sara is eager to learn and is actively taking classes at both UBC and BCIT. Sara has also been assisting both Jim and Kallin with implementing the ISO 9001:2000 requirements.

Kallin Li

Kallin Li
Detailer

Kallin joined the Colony team in 2004. Kallin’s experience as a Mechanical Engineer in China made her a perfect fit for a position with Colony. Kallin supports the Project Managers with their detailing requirements. Kallin has an extreme sense of attention to detail that ensures that all specifications are met accurately and without delay. Kallin has also become a key part in our ISO designation being officially registered as a provisional Auditor by The International Register of Certificated Auditors. She and Jim will both continue to bring the focus of ISO to the forefront of Colony.

Sandy Chen

Sandy Chen
Detailer

It was late in 2007 when we had the pleasure of welcoming Sandy to the Colony team. In 2005 Sandy decided to leave China with the aspiration of furthering her career in Canada. With 8 years of AutoCAD experience behind her, Sandy has shown us that her ambition and drive will lead her to a successful career. Sandy continues to further her knowledge and skills through classes at British Columbia Institute of Technology. Sandy’s enthusiasm towards learning and continuing her education is an asset to one and all. Sandy’s keen spirit and strong aptitude makes her a complimentary addition to the Colony team.

Jesse Atkinson

Jesse Atkinson
Business Development

Jesse started with Colony in June of 2005 as Project Coordinator with a goal in mind of becoming Project Manager. He was assisting the project management team with their projects as well as managing his own small-scale projects. After finding out there was a position to be filled with the sales team at Colony, Jesse immediately jumped at the opportunity to learn the other side of the business. Jesse soon realized that sales and estimating were really an area where he could put his fresh, innovative ideas to good use. Jesse is a firm believer in the ethics Colony stands for and has a good understanding of why Colony has a track record of excellence throughout their many years in business.

Hayden Courville

Hayden Courville
Business Development

Hayden joined Colony’s team in the summer of 2007. Hayden’s role originally commenced as Project Coordinator. This proved to be a good stepping stone for Hayden. Already Hayden has made a shift over to join in with the sales force at Colony. Clearly Hayden is revealing that this move is a great fit for each and every one. Hayden’s strong attention to detail and his enthusiasm shines throughout every project he is involved with. Hayden is a great addition and compliments the ever expanding Colony team. We welcome Hayden aboard and look forward to a flourishing career together.

Susan Gough

Susan Gough
Marketing Director

Susan joined the Colony team in 2006. Susan's experience in the customer service and management industry has made her a perfect fit with the Colony Team. Susan is currently focusing on bringing new marketing initiatives to the forefront of Colony to help promote the ever-developing Colony product lines while still promoting through our present marketing programs. Susan is currently working on developing media awareness of Colony's products and the multiple services that are offered.

Natalie Bosa

Natalie Bosa
Receptionist

Natalie joined the Colony team early in 2007. Natalie's duties include a variety of administrative responsibilities, as well as assisting the Sales and Project Management teams. Natalie comes to Colony from a sales background and knows the true meaning of "customer service" and what going the "extra mile" denotes. Natalie is a welcome addition to the Colony team.

Buster

Buster
Director of Greeting

Buster began his career with Colony Management at a very young age. Buster has developed many key office skills throughout his years at Colony. Buster not only works security during the day he is also responsible for delivering items in the office. This includes the daily mail as well as special packages. Buster has been a real asset to the company and brings a playful nature to the team.
